Mostly in the city there are large and modern stone buildings. The apartment buildings hold 100s of families
When you live in the city you will most likely: relax, spend time with family and friends, walk through parks, ect.
Russia has changed over the years causing their to be suburbs
In the suburbs there are large houses and many streets filled with cars
Many still remain poor
In the rural areas, most people live in wood houses and the quality of things, such as healthcare, isn’t as good as the suburbs
The culture in Russia is very rich in art, music, and literature
The religious traditions in Russia include: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity but a large number of Russians practice a Russian form of Eastern Orthodox Christian Faith
Mariinsky Theater is one of Russia’s top ballet companies
The Hermitage Museum has many beautiful paintings
Many of Literature in Russia reflects its themes
Fyodor Dostoyevsy write many novels that explored Russian life in the 1800s
New year’s eve is the most festive nonreligious holiday for the Russians, on this day they exchange presents with each other
A common dinner for a Russian family is a bowl of borscht, soup made from beets, a soup made from cabbage, piroshki, and different meats
Russians favorite activities are soccer and tennis and winter sports are also very popular
Communists put restrictions on Russians' religions
In the rural areas of Russia, people live in houses made of wood (log cabins)
People who live in the city live in concrete or stone buildings
Russians enjoy small get-togethers
Russians eat soup made from beats called shchi
There is a popular theater in St. Petersburg called the Mariinsky
